My Christmas Prayer

At Christmas time thoughts turn to Santa Claus
But I pray all would just for a moment pause
And think about the true and only reason
For this most wonderful holiday season
Most try from this time to X Jesus out
Not knowing they lose without a doubt
They may receive more presents and things
But there isn’t the joy knowing Jesus brings
It makes me sad when I just sit and think
About those who in their sadness will sink
When a simple thought of Jesus’ gift to them
Would restore their joy by trusting in Him
I pray that I never get so wrapped up I don’t see
That Christmas is a reminder of what Jesus did for me
